The 10/11 May 2024 will never be forgotten. It was all a pinch myself experience, from dusk to dawn. Taken in Strandhill, Sligo, Ireland, this photo is an 8 second exposure of the northern lights facing south! The lights were dancing all night. This spectacular G5 multicoloured coronal aurora was visible to the naked eye in all directions. For a wider shot see this image.
JUNE 2024: This photo was shortlisted in the final of the DIAS “Reach for the Stars” Astrophotography competition and exhibited in the DIAS HQ in Dublin.
