Description
Knocknarea (pronounced NOK-NUH-RAY) is a magical monolith of a mountain in County Sligo, Ireland, with panoramic views of Sligo town, Strandhill and Sligo Bay. Many believe its the burial place of Queen Maeve, the Connaught Chieftain. It is a tricky mountain to capture, I’ve captured it from all angles over the years – on top, north south east and west, but some of the best angles have obstacles like pylons and overhead cables in the way. On this particular evening I went out with my little drone to the place I believe has the perfect image of Knocknarea, and with its help bypassed some of the pesky pylons, and managed to capture it from my favourite angle during a beautiful sunset, combining several drone shots, HDR style, into this image – hope you like it!
